ICropS Course Appreciation: AGR 291 2nd semester 2024-2025 Class Conference

ICropS offered two new graduate courses (Special Topics) for the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year: AGR 291 – Breeding of Tropical Perennial Crops and AGR 291 – Modern Techniques in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology. As a culminating activity, both courses hosted a joint seminar to present the various activities and topics covered throughout the semester, featuring both oral and poster presentations.

The event featured the soft launch of the book monograph Fruit and Seed Germination Properties of Native and Introduced Fruits in the Philippines by Dr. Pablito M. Magdalita and Dr. Roberto E. Coronel, officially handed over to Dr. Eureka Teresa Ocampo, ICropS Director. Various Philippine Native and Introduced fruits and biotechnology products, including tissue-cultured bananas, were showcased, with some given as raffle prizes. The highlight was the awarding of certificates and cash prizes to the Top 3 Best Oral and Poster Presentations.

The activity aimed to promote and encourage graduate student enrollment in AGR 291 (Special Topics) for the upcoming semesters.
