ICropS conducts semestral Career Orientation

ICropS conducted its semestral Career Orientation last  February 26, to help the incoming major students choose their academic/professional path in the future. Held in ICropS Room 101, the event was joined by special guest speakers, ICropS’ very own faculty member, Dr. Bong M. Salazar,  Mr. Lyle Daniel Baconguis, Consultant to the 4th District of Cavite, House of Representative, Mr. Herson Arcilla, Asia Middle East Africa (AMEA) Field Crops Technical, Agronomy Data and Systems Manager Syngenta, and Mr. Jayson C. Asunto Science Research Specialist II, Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) Immunology and Molecular Biology Laboratory, Department of Agriculture, who joined online. The guests shared their experiences in the various fields they were involved in. 

Three major students namely, Mr. Justin Plana, Mr. Abel Valencia, and Mr. Romano Huraño also presented their experiences as exchange students in Japan and the Czech Republic. Mr. Valencia and Mr. Huraño interned in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) while Mr. Plana went to Mendel University, Brno, Czech Republic. They are under the guidance of Dr. Salazar as adviser. 

The event aims to equip students who have not yet decided in choosing their major programs and help in aligning their chosen field with their passion and interests.  To enlighten and inspire students in their decision-making, CAFS Dean Dr. Amado A. Angeles shared some encouragement in his welcome remarks.
