On April 22, 2025, the UPLB Rice Varietal Improvement Team (UPLB-RVIT) held a Farmer’s Field Day at the UPLB rice research experimental field. A total of 78 farmers from various barangays in Los Baños and Bay, Laguna, actively participated in the evaluation of UPLB’s promising rice lines currently undergoing preliminary yield trials. The farmers also shared their insights on the traits they prefer in their palay.
The event served as a valuable platform for farmers and researchers to exchange knowledge and experiences, fostering collaboration toward more farmer-responsive rice varieties.
